Ever since I was a student organizer during the Civil Rights Movement, I’ve spent my life fighting for voting rights and our democracy. I’ve continued those efforts during my time in Congress as House Majority Whip and now as Assistant Democratic Leader.

I know the only way we can advance our progressive values, John -- like voting rights, affordable health care, and gun safety -- is by electing the next generation of Democratic leaders. 

That's why today I’m asking you to split a contribution between the National Democratic Training Committee and my campaign.

The NDTC provides the tools, resources, and training Democrats need to run strong campaigns and win, and they’re already hard at work in all 50 states.

The work we’re doing to support Democrats up and down the ballot is crucial, because Election Day is less than a year away and victories don’t happen after one day of folks casting ballots. They are the product of weeks and months of organizing and campaign-building.
