Then I ran for State House because I wanted to fix our broken child care system – then State Senate. I made the decision to run for Congress with a laser focus on supporting women, working families, and enhancing child care in every sector. Now, I am the second woman to ever serve as Democratic Whip. 

I've dedicated my career to fighting for women's rights, and I know how important it is to invest in the next generation of women leaders – especially at a time when the GOP is attacking our freedom.
