The Path Forward Defending Life |
by Mary Szoch |
This past week's election results have been discouraging for the pro-life movement. The hard-fought victory in the Dobbs Supreme Court decision gave Americans the opportunity to defend the unborn at the ballot box. Yet, instead of protecting the most vulnerable among us, the 2022 and 2023 elections proved why the fundamental right to life should never be left to a vote. |

Gang of House Republicans Join Biden's Fight for More Abortion |
by Suzanne Bowdey |
There's a reason Congress hasn't passed all 12 appropriations bills since 1997 - it's a messy, tedious, and time-consuming process. But more than that, it has the uncomfortable tendency to expose a party's deep ideological cracks. Those differences of opinion can be fatal for spending debates, especially when you're the party in charge. And while none of this is news to House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.), it will be news if he can find a way to work through it. |

Outstanding - Ep. 46: From Anxiety to Peace: A Christian Consideration of Mental Health |
Podcast with Joseph Backholm and Ed Welch |
There are normally two camps when it comes to mental health: embrace it or toughen up. Since Covid, the number of people struggling with mental health issues has spiked and continues to climb. In a world that grows increasingly more secular per day, the search for the antidote for this growing epidemic has come up fruitless. Dr. EdWelch, a psychologist and licensed counselor joins host Joseph Backholm to wade into the weeds of the mental health crisis. From a biblical worldview, they dissect the difference between spiritual warfare vs. living in a fallen world, emphasize that we were designed to need help, and how to properly handle our complex emotions. Our Creator wants to know what's on our hearts, talk to him and lean into His peace and promises. |

Abortion: The Left's Unholy Grail |
by S.A. McCarthy |
The Left holds up abortion as its Holy Grail - or Unholy Grail, as the case may be. This has been made painfully clear over the past few decades, most recently in the series of elections that took place across the nation earlier this week. Democrats campaigned aggressively on abortion, while Republicans often backed away from the topic. |

Come as You Are, But Don't Stay as You Are |
by Sarah Holliday |
You know the saying, "come as you are?" I think it's a great idea - perhaps even beautiful, as it portrays the truth of a loving and compassionate God who welcomes the broken, the poor, the hurt, the lost, and the desperate. Christianity is not for those who have it all together, it is for those who know how terribly they need a Savior. And I believe the phrase, "come as you are," portrays this well, because you don't have to fix yourself prior to coming to Jesus. |
