The 45-day continuing resolution (CR) passed by Congress in September is set to expire Friday. While the House in recent weeks has worked to pass individual appropriations bills and the Senate has passed a minibus, lawmakers may have to consider another CR to allow more time to sort through individual funding bills. NAFCU will continue to monitor the status of government funding and advocate for credit union priorities.
The NCUA Board meets Thursday and is set to issue a final rule related to charitable donation accounts (CDAs). NAFCU, the Defense Credit Union Council (DCUC), the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), and TruStage last year raised the issue with the agency to expand the definition of a “qualified charity” to include 501(c)(19) veterans’ organizations.
