Antisemitic Attacks in the Country Has Risen by 388 Percent

National Review: Despite overall crime declining in New York City in October, hate crimes against the Jewish community jumped by over 200 percent compared to the same period last year. In the weeks following Hamas’s surprise terror attack on Israel, the NYPD’s Hate Crime Task Force registered a 214 percent “spike in anti-Jewish incidents,” compared to the same period last year. Jewish New Yorkers have reported being spat on and harassed on the subway, Jewish students at local colleges have been mobbed by pro-Palestinian protesters — and, at least in the case of Cooper Union, forced to seek shelter in a library. And in upstate New York, a Cornell student was arrested for threatening to massacre Jews on campus. The latest numbers from NYPD’s hate crime bureau underscore FBI director Christopher Wray’s earlier warning on Capitol Hill in late October that the conflict in the Middle East had led to a historic rise in antisemitism (National Review). News Nation: Law enforcement advises Americans to take every threat seriously and contact police immediately. The Anti-Defamation League reports that nationwide there has been a 388 percent increase in antisemitism and those numbers could increase as the war continues (News Nation).

House Speaker Mike Johnson Announces Spending Plan to Prevent Government Shutdown
Daily Wire: House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) announced a “two-step” short-term spending measure to avoid a government shutdown. The plan reportedly would give certain federal agencies money through the middle of January while others would get funds through early February, allowing lawmakers in the House and Senate more time to hash out longer-term spending legislation. The deadline is November 17. Johnson also noted that separating the continuing resolution from supplemental funding debates, such as the one related to Israel, puts the GOP in a stronger position “to fight for fiscal responsibility, oversight over Ukraine aid, and meaningful policy changes at our Southern border” (Daily Wire). Speaker Mike Johnson: This two-step continuing resolution is a necessary bill to place House Republicans in the best position to fight for conservative victories. The bill will stop the absurd holiday-season omnibus tradition of massive, loaded up spending bills introduced right before the Christmas recess. Separating out the CR from the supplemental funding debates places our conference in the best position to fight for fiscal responsibility, oversight over Ukraine aid, and meaningful policy changes at our Southern border. With our debt spiraling out of control, the rising costs of ‘Bidenomics’ hurting families, and our Southern border wide open, House Republicans must position ourselves best to fight for the American people (X).

Hundreds of Thousands of Pro-Palestine Protesters March in London on Armistice Day
New York Post: A half a million people packed the streets of London Saturday in a Pro-Palestine protest that was among the largest demonstrations ever held in the city, while a group of Americans staked out Joe Biden’s home in Delaware. Hundreds of thousands of protesters also marched against the Israel-Hamas war in Paris, Brussels, Barcelona, Cape Town, Dublin and more on Saturday, most calling for a cease-fire in the Gaza Strip. London’s protest overlapped with Armistice Day, where British citizens commemorate the soldiers who died in World War I. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said the rally’s timing was disrespectful, while other ministers had called for the march to be canceled. Home Secretary Suella Braverman called the demonstrators “hate marchers” in a lambasted op-ed in The Times of London. But while some marchers carried signs that said “Free Palestine,” “Stop the Massacre,” and “Stop Bombing Gaza,” the chant “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free” was also heard. The rallying cry is viewed as antisemitic because it implies a call for Israel’s eradication (New York Post). Dr. Eli David: Pro-Palestinian protesters in London 🇬🇧 chanting “from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free”, which calls for abolishing Israel and killing all the Jews. Have you seen a single pro-Palestinian protester chanting “two-state solution” (X)?

MIT Not Suspending Antisemitic Students for Fear They Could be Deported
Daily Wire: A statement from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) this week explaining why the school did not follow through on its threat to suspend students involved in anti-Semitic hate events on campus said that the school was concerned the students could be deported. MIT President Sally Kornbluth issued a warning after Jewish and Israeli students said that they were scared for their physical safety and were prevented from going to class because an anti-Semitic event, which started early Thursday morning, was being held in a highly-trafficked area. Haaretz noted that, according to MIT, one-third of its student population is comprised of foreign nationals who are in the U.S. on visas (Daily Wire). CEO Bill Ackman: This is a math class this morning at

Pope Francis Removes Texas Bishop for Criticizing His Progressiveness
Fox News: Pope Francis has removed the leader of the Diocese of Tyler, Texas, a conservative bishop who became a vocal critic of the pontiff, even accusing him earlier this year of “undermining” the Catholic faith. The Vatican made the announcement in one line at the end of its Holy See bulletin Saturday, saying that he had been “removed” from the “pastoral care of the diocese” and that Bishop Joe Vásquez of Austin was appointed as interim apostolic administrator. In a May 12 tweet, Bishop Joseph Strickland wrote, “I believe Pope Francis is the Pope, but it is time for me to say that I reject his program of undermining the Deposit of Faith. Follow Jesus.” He also became the subject of a Vatican investigation this year, and he promised at the time that he wouldn’t voluntarily resign (Fox News). National Review: Strickland challenged Francis to fire him in 2020 when Strickland claimed the Roman Catholic Church had become “weak” under his leadership. He also reposted a video that labeled the pope as a “diabolically disoriented clown,” according to the National Catholic Reporter. Strickland said he was removed in part because he refused one of Pope Francis’s progressive reforms restricting the old Latin Mass (National Review).

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu Slams Franch PM Macron for Suggesting Israel Bombs Civilians
Times of Israel: Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Saturday night bluntly slammed French President Emmanuel Macron over remarks he made a day earlier, in which he criticized Israel for killing babies and the elderly in Gaza and reiterated his call for a ceasefire. During a press conference, Netanyahu said that the French president had “made a serious mistake, factually and morally,” in his allegations that Israel is intentionally bombing civilians (Times of Israel). Hugh Hewitt: Israel will not be pressured by anyone to do anything. It will destroy Hamas and recover their citizens and Netanyahu, Gallant and Gantz are shoulder to shoulder. They will not bend to false charges from Macron or anyone else (X).

50,000 Gazan Civilians Heed Israel’s Warning, Evacuate Territory
Daily Wire: Israel released footage on Saturday showing that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) protected 50,000 Gazans today as they evacuated to the southern part of the territory. This was the seventh day in a row that Israel opened the evacuation corridor for Palestinians to escape the area. Israel first started opening evacuation routes four weeks ago (Daily Wire). COGAT: Today, the evacuation corridor was open between 9:00-16:00. 50,000 Gazans evacuated south for their safety (X).

Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals Declares Biden’s Ban on Ghost Guns Unlawful
Just the News: The Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals on Friday unanimously struck down the Biden administration’s restrictions on “ghost guns,” or firearms without serial numbers, determining that the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) lacked authority to enact them. The decision upholds a lower court decision that held the ATF exceeded its authority. The U.S. Supreme Court had allowed the restrictions to take effect while the case made its way through the appeals process. The ruling is a blow to President Joe Biden, who has called for tighter restrictions on firearms, including an assault weapons ban. Earlier in his administration, the Supreme Court struck down a New York State requirement that concealed carry permit applicants demonstrate a need to carry a firearm (Just the News). NBC: The administration has said that ghost guns are attractive to criminals and others prohibited from lawfully buying firearms, including minors. There were about 20,000 suspected ghost guns reported in 2021 to the ATF as having been recovered by law enforcement in criminal investigations — a tenfold increase from 2016, according to the White House (NBC).

CVS Pharmacy in DC Clears Shelves of Toilet Paper to Replace Them with Pictures
New York Post: A CVS location in Washington DC was forced to wipe its shelves clean of toilet paper and replace them instead with framed photos of the products amid rising thefts in the country’s capital. If customers need to purchase any toilet paper or paper towels, they must tap a buzzer placed on the bare shelves to summon a store employee to retrieve it from a back room. The unusual store display was started after homeless people began snatching the products off the shelves of the drugstore (New York Post). Owen Gregorian: Reports of robbery in DC are up by 68% in 2023 compared to last year. More than 3,000 robberies have taken place so far in 2023 — up substantially from 1,791 at this time in 2022, Metropolitan Police Department data shows (X).

Pro-Life Activist Mark Houck Sues Biden’s DOJ for Wrongful Arrest
Daily Wire: Pro-life activist and Catholic father of seven Mark Houck and his wife are suing the Biden Department of Justice over Houck’s shocking arrest last year by an estimated 20 armed FBI agents at his Pennsylvania home in front of his children. The DOJ targeted Houck, who leads a nonprofit group that provides sidewalk counseling at abortion clinics in Philadelphia, over an incident from 2021 involving his then-12-year-old son at a Planned Parenthood abortion facility. The family says Houck, who was facing 11 years behind bars and fines up to $350,000, was defending his son from a harassing pro-abortion activist. In January, Houck was acquitted of the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances a.k.a. FACE Act charges (Daily Wire). Townhall: According to the U.S. Department of Justice, the FACE prohibits violent, threatening, damaging, and obstructive conduct intended to injure, intimidate, or interfere with the right to seek, obtain or provide reproductive health services (Townhall).
