Team,
On International Women's Day, I just wanted to write to you to reaffirm my commitment to the fight for progress for women across the world. This past week we all got a painful reminder of the pervasive gender gap that still exists in our politics.
But across the country -- and right here in TX-25 -- we're doing the hard, important work to change that. Ensuring that every working person is guaranteed paid overtime, safe and healthy working conditions, meal and rest breaks, paid sick leave, and the freedom from workplace harassment. Enshrining a Domestic Workers Bill of Rights so that those who provide the care for our homes and loved ones are afforded the basic rights and dignity they deserve. And ending the healthcare crisis among women in our state because of ideological attacks on women's access to reproductive healthcare.
I'm proud to be part of the movement of progressive women running to make our country a more prosperous and equitable place. I am committed to the fight for fair wages, civil rights, paid family leave, and reproductive justice.
So team, on this International Women's Day, I'm more determined than ever to be your voice -- and make history as the first woman to represent TX-25!
I'm grateful for all you've done to advance our cause. Your support will prove even more valuable these next eight months.
-Julie
