A poll released yesterday from the Des Moines Register and Mediacom shows that Joni Ernst's approval rating has dropped 10 points to 47%.
The poll also shows I’m the strongest Democratic candidate to take her on, with the most name recognition and highest favorability numbers.
We’ve put in the time and the work, having visited over 3/4ths of Iowa's 99 counties to listen to and talk with voters in person. And this poll proves that in spite of not having big corporate money with us, we are winning.
This is how you win Iowa. You go everywhere, including rural areas and urban areas and everywhere - and you listen to people. You show up. President Obama knew that. And he won. Senator Tom Harkin knew that, too. That’s how we’re campaigning. I can and will defeat Joni Ernst in November IF I have enough resources early enough in the cycle.
Our campaign still needs to raise at least another $60,000 this month. We have less than 12 weeks until the Primary, so NOW is the time to pitch in to unseat Joni and flip the Senate.
We have several outstanding field organizers who want to work hard for this campaign and for you -- so you end up with a senator you can be proud of and one who listens to you. And we need the money to pay them, plain and simple. These last 12 weeks until the primary on June 2 are critical. Please give what you can today. We deeply appreciate it.
