The filibuster became famous during the Civil Rights era as a tool for segregationists to block meaningful civil rights laws.

Today, the GOP is using those same tactics to undermine the fight for social and economic justice, and progressive reforms that the majority of Americans want.

That's why we need to end the filibuster in the Senate.

Ending the filibuster would re-empower the will of the American people – and allow us to pass the ambitious, progressive policies that the majority of Americans want.

We could overhaul our broken health care system, combat the climate crisis, fix our shattered economy that prevents too many from getting ahead, deliver on immigration reform, and pass the mental health legislation that our families desperately need.

It's abundantly clear our Senate no longer serves the priorities of the American people. Our country has changed, our politics have changed, so now our institutions must change with it. In order to do so, we need to fix the chokeholds in our current system – we need to end the filibuster.
