I’ve run marathons and run for Congress, folks, and I can tell you they’re not really all that different.

Months or even years of preparation
A reason to stay motivated
A support system to keep you on track
Supplies in case of emergencies

And just like you need to start training for a marathon well in advance, campaigns need to start building up resources well before Election Day.

Especially because running a campaign for Congress in a presidential election year is about as challenging – and costly – as it gets.
