John, I launched my campaign for Congress over six months ago, and after the encouraging election results in Ohio, Virginia, and Kentucky, I wanted to re-introduce myself.

I'm Emily Busch, and I'm running against John James in Michigan's 10th District.

Whether you've heard a little about me, seen me at an event, or you've never met me before, I want to make one thing clear:

I'm running for Congress on behalf of our children.

John, I know a lot of candidates will tell you they're doing this for our kids, but this is a deeply emotional and personal fight for me. If you don't have time to read my whole story, consider making a contribution to the pro-choice Democrat who can flip this seat >>

I can't tell you the exact day I decided to run for Congress, but I'd like to tell you about the day that changed everything. John, this is my son:

On November 30, 2021, he ran for his life from a school shooter.

While my son's teacher heroically led him and his classmates to safety, ten people were shot that day.

Our community was traumatized. I was sad, scared, but more than anything, I was angry.

In the year after the shooting, elected officials did nothing to address the obvious issue we had with gun control, except offer their "thoughts and prayers." With your help, we can do so much more – chip in today >>

Republicans in our federal government did nothing. In fact, John, people like my opponent are supported by the very same gun industry which has profited off of tragedies in our communities. 🚩

🚩 NOTHING has been done to prevent this in the future.

🚩 NOTHING has been done to dig into the deep-rooted causes of gun violence, especially in marginalized communities.

🚩 NOTHING has been done to help us all heal. Where is John James?

I hope you feel the sadness, fear, and anger I feel. Inaction isn't enough for me, John. In response, I did what moms do: rolled up my sleeves and went right to work.

Now, I've spent months making sure folks across the district know about my plan to push the needle on gun laws in our country and keep the horrific and tragic events at Oxford from happening again.

This is a competitive district, John. We have a real chance to flip a seat in Congress and actually do something about abortion rights, gun violence, and so many other challenges and opportunities.

To make this long-term change, we need a change of leadership in Congress. Your contributions will help us beat the Republicans and win this race. Will you join our team with a contribution of any amount today?

Thank you,
Emily Busch
