What would you do if you had an extra $709 to spend? You might save it, pay off debt, get ready for the Christmas season, pay your rent, you name it.
Now, what would you do if you had an extra $709 per month? For a lot of Americans, that would be the difference between wondering where their next meal was going to come from and having funds set aside for a rainy day.
Well, under President Biden, Americans are spending an average of $709 more per month to buy the exact same goods and services that they were two years ago. This is a burdensome tax on the middle class and President Biden is directly responsible, thanks to his jobs-killing policies and runaway government spending bills that supercharge inflation. The proof is in the numbers. Inflation took off during the first year of Biden’s presidency, and even though it has come down from the highs of Summer 2022, it’s still bleeding Americans dry.
Across the nation, people are feeling it in their wallets. A new poll found that two-thirds of adults say their household expenses have risen over the last year, with only a quarter of those individuals seeing their incomes rise to keep up. 73% of adults say that the economy is poor. This final statistic is particularly alarming: 72% of Americans say things are going badly in our country today.
What’s worse is that they are absolutely right. Here we have a President who is touring the nation touting “Bidenomics” as a win for the American people, meanwhile, those same people are struggling to afford gas and groceries, let alone the holiday price spikes that have become par for the course with this president. Honestly, can you get more tone deaf than that?
With wages decreasing by .2% since August and inflation remaining stubbornly high, it’s no surprise that we’re also seeing record-high credit card, auto loan, and consumer loan delinquencies. In fact, they’re at levels unseen since the Great Recession. While it comes as no surprise that the economy is faring poorly under Washington Democrat control, considering the party leaders’ unwillingness to enact fiscally responsible policies, it is disappointing that the American people are the ones left paying the price.
Fortunately, under the leadership of Governor Brian Kemp, Georgians will continue to see some relief at the gas pump, as he extended the gas tax suspension through November 29th. This Administration would be much better off if it followed Georgia’s lead – the number one state in the country to do business – and built a system that promoted hard work and growth, not overspending and government control.
