Dear Friend,
On the evening of October 25th, a man armed with a military-style assault weapon entered a bowling alley in Lewiston, Maine, and began shooting into the crowd.
18 people were killed and 13 more were injured as a result of this senseless mass shooting.
The tragedy in Lewiston is only one of the 597 mass shootings that have occurred in the United States this year, according to the Gun Violence Archive – that’s nearly two mass shootings per day.
Lawmakers and activists are calling on Congress to pass a national ban on assault weapons to end mass shootings and quell gun violence, but Maine’s Senators – Susan Collins and Angus King – still refuse to support this lifesaving ban.
