Congresswoman Lesko Weekly Update

It has been a busy week in the U.S. House of Representatives! I hope you all had a great week and were able to spend plenty of time with family and friends. If you would like to share this newsletter with others, please direct them to this link and encourage them to subscribe.

Happy Veterans Day!

Happy Veterans Day to the many veterans of the 8th Congressional District and the millions more throughout the country who have bravely served. Your sacrifice and heroic commitment to our great nation is a debt we can never repay. Thank you for your service and God bless.

Lesko Meetings

This week, I sat down with my fellow House Republicans and families from Israel, including some who still have family members being held hostage. We stand with Israel and we will bring them home.

Lesko in the News

In September 2023, more migrants crossed our Southern Border than the entire population of Glendale, AZ. This is madness! Hear more about my thoughts on this, the ongoing conflict in Israel, and more with Seth Leibsohn.

Lesko Legislation

"Every government agency can - and must - become more efficient and update their practices to ensure proper stewardship of taxpayer dollars." That's why I'm proud to be introducing the Advancing Nuclear Regulatory Oversight Act, which directs the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) to submit to Congress reports that outline any changes the agency made to its processes or procedures during the COVID-19 pandemic and explain how the agency could implement these changes to become more efficient in the future. For more information click here for full press release.

Praying for Israel

This past week, Congress came together to pray for the victims of the atrocities in Israel, their families, and those still being held hostage. Even in darkness, America stands with Israel.

GET THE FACTS: Bidenomics

It’s no secret that since President Biden took office Americans have been experiencing a cost-of-living crisis. Currently, the average family of four is paying an additional $1,261 per month to purchase the same goods and services as in January 2021. Since President Biden took office, food prices are up 19%, energy prices are up 38.8%, and housing prices are up 17.7%. On top of all of these price increases, workers have lost an average of $6,000 in real wages and just since April, the number of unemployed individuals has risen by almost one million. The data is clear, Bidenomics is not working.

Around the District

Team Lesko attended the ribbon cutting for Ultra Dental in Peoria. We want to congratulate them and wish them many years of success.

Team Lesko visited the First Citizen’s Bank food drive to benefit Valley View Community Food Bank. We appreciate this service to our community and commitment to providing resources for wholesome and nutritious food to those in need.

Michael from our district office attended the Hospice of the West Veterans Day Pinning Ceremony at Chapparal Winds where he was able to assist with the pinning of veterans living at the facility. We always appreciate when we are able to take the time to recognize the many veterans of the 8th Congressional District.

Casework Highlight

A constituent contacted our office because he needed assistance confirming his enrollment in Medicare part A and B. He made multiple attempts to contact Medicare, but was not able to confirm that his enrollment had been completed. Our office contacted Medicare and verified his enrollment, ensuring no penalty was assessed to the constituent.
