Today is Veterans Day, a day when we come together as a nation to thank the millions of brave men and women who have served our country in the armed forces.

We owe our veterans and their families a huge debt of gratitude for protecting the freedoms and values that we cherish. I was thrilled to show a small token of appreciation with dinner last night. Will you take a moment and sign your name alongside mine with this special Veterans Day Card?

Over 145 people joined myself and Congressman Jeff Jackson (NC-14), who courageously served in Afghanistan with the Army.

Being in the presence of so many brave men and women, made me think of my own dad. He was a Navy Quartermaster and I’m proud to honor his memory and thousands of other Marylanders with events like these as well as with my service on the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs.
