Hey --
When I look into my daughter's eyes, I cannot stand to think that she'll have to face many of the same barriers that I and so many other women have faced.
While we've made great strides in our fight for women's rights over the years, there's still so much more work to do to ensure that my daughter and women across Colorado -- and the country -- have a fair shot at gender equity.
Jason has always been a champion for women's rights, and I'm proud to watch him deliver results and be a true ally for women in Congress by:
- Passing the Paycheck Fairness Act to ensure that women are paid equally for the same work as their male co-workers;
- Working to secure more modern paid leave policies that ensure women -- and our families -- can grow and take care of their loved ones without fear of losing pay or their jobs;
- Passing the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act to protect women's safety and close the "boyfriend loophole" with guns; and
- Voting yes to remove the arbitrary deadline for states to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment.
As we enter Women's History Month, it's critical that we remember it's on all of us to lift each other up in order to break barriers and protect our freedoms. If you agree, make the commitment to join us today.
