John –
Veterans Day is a time to reflect on the incredible sacrifice and dedication of our servicemen and women who have defended our freedom. I'm Herb Jones, an Army veteran, and I'm running for Congress in Virginia's First Congressional District.
Unlike my opponent, Rob Wittman, who has spent nearly four decades in politics, I come from a background of service and commitment to our community.
In the Army, it didn't matter whether the men and women serving alongside you were Democrats or Republicans. What mattered was our commitment to the mission. I carry that spirit of unity and service with me as I seek to represent you in Congress.
Our district deserves a leader who understands the challenges veterans face when they return home. Rob Wittman has been in Washington for far too long, and his actions have shown a disconnect from the needs of our veterans. He voted against the PACT Act, legislation that significantly improved healthcare access and funding for veterans who were exposed to toxic substances during military service. He voted for legislation that put the government in charge of Virginians' personal healthcare decisions and opposed a plan to strengthen Medicare and protect seniors' freedom to retire with dignity.
This Veterans Day, let's not only honor our veterans but also commit to making real changes for them. Together, we can work to improve veterans' access to quality healthcare, job training, and mental health services.
I invite you to join me in this mission to serve those who have served us. Together, we can build a better future for veterans and all of Virginia's First Congressional District residents.
Thank you for your support, and Happy Veterans Day!
