This Veterans Day, the DLGA is thankful for our members who have served in uniform and continue to serve their country as public servants.

DLGA member Adrian Fontes honorably served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1992-1996, and was nominated for a meritorious commission. He now continues to defend Democracy in his home state of Arizona as Secretary of State where he has stood up to the Big Lie and rejected election conspiracies that seek to undermine the founding principles of our country. A message from Secretary of State Adrian Fontes

This Veterans Day, I’m thinking of the 230,000 veterans who led the American Revolution that made our Democracy possible.

I’m thinking of the sixteen million Americans who served in uniform to fight fascism in WWII.

I’m thinking of the veterans in the Capitol Police and Secret Service who put their bodies between a violent mob and our elected leaders on January 6.

Since 1776, America’s military has stood for something uniquely beautiful: the freedom to choose our own leaders.

248 years later, the threats have changed, but we still stand our ground for America’s right to free and fair elections.

I’m proud to call myself a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.

Happy Veterans Day to all my fellow service members, and thank you for your sacrifices. 🤝🏽
