Today, we honor our veterans, John.

While one holiday is not enough to repay the service and sacrifice of those who answer the call to defend our nation, it is a moment for us to stop and reflect upon what we owe to those who have.

We owe them a health care system that works, with wait times that don’t leave veterans in the lurch. We owe them aid in finding employment and reintegrating into their communities when their service ends. We owe them, and their families, our respect and gratitude.

John, if you’re a veteran, or someone in your family is, know that you have my thanks today and always.

I will advocate for the rights and needs of our veterans as North Carolina’s next governor. I will give my all to those who gave their all for our nation.
