This week, I met with veterans calling for a ceasefire. They spoke about what they saw serving in Afghanistan and Iraq. With tears and outrage, they’re coming together to say “Enough!” and calling for an end to the violence.

Our movement for a ceasefire is growing every single day.

As we met with veterans yesterday, Rep. Summer Lee called out how 99% of the Palestinians killed by the Israeli military in the past month were civilians.

Even though anti-Palestinian AIPAC spent millions of dollars trying to defeat Summer in her first election to Congress last year, she will not be intimidated and keeps speaking up for Palestinians’ humanity.

First-term Rep. Delia Ramirez is also continuing to hold Israel’s government accountable despite the political risks, saying: “I was sent here to fight for shared humanity. I was sent here to fight for peace and justice.”

Rep. Cori Bush, who introduced the Ceasefire Now Resolution, said: “I was sent to Congress to save lives. I was not sent to Congress to have my constituents’ tax dollars buy bombs to kill thousands of innocent Palestinians.”

We were all grassroots activists before running for Congress, and we’re still holding firm to our values—even when it makes us targets.
