Team,
The men and women of our armed forces make invaluable sacrifices for our country. They put their lives on the line every day — not for personal gain, but so that we can enjoy our constitutional rights to life, to liberty, and to the pursuit of happiness.
Today, I want to personally thank our veterans and their families for their service. The significance of their courage, sacrifice, and devotion to this country cannot be measured, and cannot be sufficiently honored with one day. But nevertheless, it’s still an important opportunity to show our gratitude.
Veterans and their families represent the best of America. They show tremendous bravery and valor in their willingness to enter foreign territory under the most harrowing of circumstances. They show unyielding commitment to our country’s founding principles. And they show an incredible ability to make a real difference in our communities and worldwide.
Treating our veterans with the dignity and honor they deserve is one of our foremost responsibilities. No one who has made such immense sacrifices for our freedom should ever have to wait for care or for a check. That’s why I’m always fighting for better healthcare and better jobs for our veterans and their families.
I hope you will join me in honoring our veterans and their families today and every day.
