Friends, my campaign for re-election to the U.S. Senate just got a whole lot more important, so I have to ask you if you’ll consider chipping in any amount to help me win in 2024 -- but first, I’d like to explain why:

Joe Manchin, my colleague from West Virginia, has announced that he won’t be seeking re-election next year -- which means that every single incumbent Democrat on the ballot in 2024 MUST hold onto their seat if we have any hope of retaining our majority.

Keeping a Democratic majority is absolutely critical in the fight to protect our progress and prevent an extreme GOP from enacting an agenda that simply doesn’t align with the values of the American people. 

We know from polling, electoral results, and the loud voices of millions that the American people want voting rights, they want reproductive freedom, and they want action to prevent gun violence. 

But the leaders of the GOP have made it clear that if they gain power in 2024, they will do the exact opposite: Restrict the freedom to vote, ban abortion nationwide, and continue to appease the NRA no matter how much senseless violence families endure.

We cannot risk a Republican Senate majority in 2024 -- but that’s exactly what will happen if I lose my race. And with speculation that Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin could challenge me next year, now is not the time to get complacent.

Virginia is a battleground state, so I’ve got to ask: Can you please support my re-election campaign with a donation of any amount right now?

I’m running for re-election because, after all we’ve accomplished over the past few years, there’s more to get done -- and I believe we can do it together. We can protect a woman’s right to choose, we can take real action to reduce gun violence, we can grow our economy, and we can tackle the climate crisis. But not if we don’t hold onto our Democratic majority.
