Happy Veteran’s Day, folks!

Today is a special day, when we get to honor and celebrate the brave servicemen and women – folks who’ve made immense personal sacrifices for the greater good of our nation.

The truth is, words alone can’t repay the debt of gratitude we owe our veterans. We’ve got to repay it with action.

Prince George’s County is home to 60,000 veterans, far too many of whom can’t access the benefits and resources promised to them: quality mental and physical healthcare, affordable housing, decent job opportunities, and support for those who can’t work.

So, I took action. My administration created Maryland’s first county-level Office of Veterans Affairs to improve quality of life for all veterans here in Prince George’s.

And as Senator, I’ll continue to be a fierce advocate for those who have served – to ensure all veterans can live in safety and peace.
