To all the brave men and women who have served our nation – including many of my family members and friends – thank you for your service.

We owe our veterans and their families a huge debt of gratitude for protecting the freedoms and values that we cherish as a nation. We also need to do more than be grateful for their service.

We need to honor their sacrifices by ensuring they get the benefits they have earned and the respect they deserve.

That means providing our veterans and their families with quality health care, mental health services, affordable housing, and education opportunities.

This Veterans Day, let's honor our brave service members' sacrifices by giving back to our communities, respecting one another, and paying it forward.
