JOHN, today we honor the sacrifices and contributions made by veterans here in Rhode Island and across the nation.

Since our nation’s founding, millions of brave Americans have stood up for our country and put their lives on the line to defend our rights and liberties. We owe veterans a debt of gratitude for their service, as they exemplify patriotism, heroism, and the true meaning of public service.

When it comes to our nation’s veterans, actions must match words. In Congress, I’ll never back down from supporting those who served, with policies to support our veterans when they return home. These brave Americans and their families have sacrificed so much for our country, and we must ensure they have the support and resources they need.

Today, we salute all the brave men and women who have fought for our freedom. I’m so proud to represent thousands of military families throughout Rhode Island’s 2nd District — I will always have your back in Washington.
