Today holds immense significance for America. It's Veterans Day – a moment dedicated solely to expressing gratitude to the brave men and women who selflessly served in America's military, safeguarding our cherished way of life. These remarkable individuals personify the very essence of our nation – embodying heroism by placing the interests of our country above their own. 

As a nation, it is our duty to reciprocate their service in any way we can. While we can never fully repay our debt to them, we must do all that we can to enhance their healthcare, expand their benefits, and ensure they are presented with every opportunity once they transition from their esteemed service. 

Let us set aside political differences today and focus on demonstrating our heartfelt appreciation.

The first African-American woman in Wisconsin history to serve in the U.S. House of Representatives, Congresswoman Gwen Moore, took her official oath of office on

January 4, 2005. She served in the Wisconsin State Senate from 1993-2004. Before her

election to the Senate, Congresswoman Moore served two consecutive terms in the

Wisconsin State Assembly from 1989-92.
