Friends,
On this Veterans Day, I would like to take a moment to thank those who have served in our Armed Forces and who have put their country first, time and again. Making the decision to put your life on the line for our country is one of the bravest and most noble things an American can do, and it’s important we honor all those who choose to serve.
As we celebrate Veterans Day, let us also reflect on the shared responsibility we have to support our veterans. It is our duty as a nation to ensure that our veterans receive the support and care they need. This includes access to quality health care, educational opportunities, and assistance in transitioning to civilian life.
That’s why throughout my time in Congress, I’ve been a part of dozens of legislative efforts to deliver benefits to our veterans and their families, including the passage of the historic PACT Act, which finally increased the VA’s ability to provide care and resources to veterans who have been exposed to burn pits and other toxic chemicals.
We’ve made great strides for our veterans, but there is still a lot more work we need to do to ensure all of them are taken care of. I pledge to continue working day in and day out to ensure that our servicemembers, veterans, and their loved ones have all the resources they need while defending our country and when they return home.
Thank you,
Lori Trahan
