For weeks, the world has witnessed an immeasurable tragedy in Israel, Gaza, and the West Bank. Hamas’ brutal terrorist attacks and tactics sparked a devastating war that has killed thousands of innocent civilians and left the region in chaos. In this critical moment, the United States must stand with our allies and in defense of freedom, human rights, and peace.
Unfortunately, instead of voting to send critical aid to our allies in Israel and humanitarian assistance to innocent civilians in Gaza this week, the House was once again consumed by Republican dysfunction and their attempts to politicize the conflict and divide Congress further. We must choose the right path to support our allies, protect innocent lives, and defend freedom and democracy worldwide. The world is watching, and we must rise to meet this moment while championing the values our nation holds dear.
I am urging the Republican House majority to change course. Let’s stand with our allies in Israel, establish a pause in hostilities to free the hostages still held by Hamas terrorists and deliver critical humanitarian aid to civilians in Gaza trapped in the middle of Hamas' war, support the people of Ukraine as they fight for their country, and defend democracy, freedom, and human rights worldwide by passing the President’s supplemental aid package.
Despite this Republican-engineered chaos, I’m not giving up. It will not be easy, but it can be done, and that’s what I will continue fighting for.
