Team,

Today is Veteran’s Day, a time for us to pause and salute the men and women who served our country and defended the ideals that make this nation great.

Since I began working in Congress, I have been fighting for veterans to ensure they receive the services they need including healthcare, mental healthcare, education, and training so they can find civilian jobs. It’s our responsibility to make sure they get the support they need.

In 2016, I introduced the VA Transparency Enhancement Act, which would require the Department of Veterans Affairs to report quarterly to Congress on the number of patients who contracted an infection due to surgery and the number of surgeries canceled or transferred by the VA.

I encourage each and every one of you to take a moment to visit a local memorial, participate in a community event, or attend a parade to express your gratitude to our veterans.

Today, and every day, I am dedicated to supporting our veterans and their families and showing my appreciation for their service and sacrifices.

Thank you,

Debbie
