As a member of Congress, I never lose sight of the fact that our system of self-government had to be fought for.
And I will always be grateful to those who have defended our nation in uniform.
That’s why one of my top priorities in Congress is improving the VA so that our veterans get the benefits, care, and respect earned through service.
We have an abundance of veterans from all branches of the military living here in southern Minnesota, and nothing is more gratifying than delivering results for them.
On this Veterans Day, I hope you’ll join me in extending heartfelt thanks to all Minnesota veterans. Whether it’s World War II veterans, or men and women just recently discharged from the service, generations of Americans have selflessly worn the uniform and protected our way of life.
Today, and every day, I stand with them, as I know you do as well.
