My friend,
On this Veterans Day, I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt appreciation for our Veterans' dedication to our nation. This day serves as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices they've made, hardships they've endured, and the extraordinary courage they've displayed while serving our country.
As we reflect on the significance of Veterans Day, I want to assure your our office is committed to supporting our veterans and ensuring they have the resources to thrive. We have:
- Held quarterly roundtables to hear Veterans' concerns.
- Helped Veterans navigate the VA and receive their benefits.
- Prevented the closure of VA medical facilities.
- Secured funding for improvements to the Brooklyn VA Hospital, including more nurses, parking and renovated medical suites.
-
Provided local veterans with service medals and facilitated a Bronze Star Award ceremony with the Secretary of the Navy for a WWII vet.
