Did you know California has the largest veteran population of any state in the United States? Veterans Day is special to me and the thousands of other military veterans living in our Central Valley. It was a pleasure and privilege to serve this great nation, and I am so honored to have worn the uniform, as did my parents and grandparents before me.
Too often, politicians just pay lip service to the needs of veterans. Many don’t understand the unique needs and mental health challenges from our service, and the continuing struggle to get continuity of care through veteran healthcare.
NO elected veterans are serving in Congress that represent California’s Central Valley. For the rest of California, only a handful served in the military. One of the reasons I’m running for Congress is to provide better representation for my fellow veterans here in the Central Valley.
This campaign won’t be easy, but the military taught me there isn’t anything worth having that is easy.
