Happy Veterans Day!

If you're a veteran, I have a special message and a promise...

I hope you and your families fill this Veterans Day with peaceful reflection regarding your service and sacrifice to this great nation. Also, I hope on this holiday, you will reconnect and deepen the bonds you have formed with fellow veterans. 

You may not have agreed with the policies that launched the wars you served in, or maybe your views changed during your service. Yet you showed the kind of willingness to sacrifice for something greater than yourself that our country needs so urgently today. 

When I am in the White House, I will convene a permanent Veterans Advisory Council with a seat on the National Security Council so that veterans have a say in future decisions of war and peace. You, who have sacrificed the most, are among the best qualified to guide us.
