HEB Youth in Government
Applications are now being accepted for the HEB Youth in Government Program!
The HEB Youth in Government program offers an engaging and educational experience for high school juniors and seniors interested in learning about local government. Students must live in Hurst, Euless, or Bedford, but they do not need to attend HEB ISD.
This program is a partnership between the HEB Chamber of Commerce, the Cities of Hurst, Euless, Bedford, and Republic Services. Students will meet twice a month on Monday evenings between January and April and hear from various city departments and local officials. This is a unique opportunity for students to gain insight into the responsibilities and challenges of public service. Students will also be able to qualify for a college scholarship provided by Republic Services!
The deadline to apply is December 8.
Ambulance Subscription Service
The City of Hurst offers residents an ambulance subscription service to help offset the costs of emergency ambulance transportation. The purpose of the subscription service is to cover the amount not covered by your insurance provider or Medicare. If a person does not have health care insurance, this program covers emergency medical services delivered prior to hospital arrival. For $60 per year per family, you will never have to worry about paying an ambulance bill. **Medicaid recipients are not eligible for this program.
Enrollment for the 2024 Ambulance Subscription Service runs through December 31, 2023. For more details, including the online application or renewal form, visit our hursttx.gov.

Cease the Grease Program (recycle your used cooking grease)
This holiday season, we're making it easier than ever to Cease the Grease! The City of Hurst encourages residents to collect and recycle or safely dispose of all used fats, oils and grease. When these items are washed down the drain, it sticks inside pipes. This hardening eventually leads to build up that clogs and damages the sanitary sewer system.
You can recycle your grease for FREE at our drop-off location at the north end of the Service Center parking lot at 2001 Precinct Line Road from November 13, 2023 - January 5, 2024.
