In two days, the Trump administration will stop accepting public comments on its disastrous proposal to gut the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).

Submit your public comment now to help the NRDC Action Fund and our partners reach our goal of submitting 1,000,000 comments supporting NEPA.

NEPA empowers Americans to speak out against big federal projects that could harm our environment, our public lands, our climate, and our health.

For example, when the Forest Service tried to open the Giant Sequoia National Monument in California to commercial logging, conservationists used NEPA to challenge the decision — and the iconic redwood trees were saved.

Or, when the Bureau of Land Management proposed seismic exploration for oil and gas in Colorado's Canyons of the Ancients National Monument, which includes 6,000 archeological sites reflecting Native American cultures, NEPA helped protect these culturally significant sites and delicate habitats.

If Trump is successful in rolling back NEPA, projects like oil and gas pipelines could be built in YOUR community without any sort of public input — risking YOUR family's safety, security, and health. We CAN'T let that happen.

Last week, Trump's Council on Environmental Quality held its second of just two public hearings on their proposed NEPA rollback. That means Americans were only given two chances to speak out against one of Trump's most heinous attacks on our environment and our democracy.

Thankfully, dozens of environmental justice activists, environmentalists, and experts from green groups were able to come to Washington D.C. and speak at the hearing. We heard powerful testimony about the horrors that environmental hazards have inflicted on communities — disproportionately communities of color — before NEPA was on the books. And we heard how critical NEPA is to fighting climate change.

Two hearings is NOT sufficient time for public input on Trump's dangerous NEPA rollback — and that's exactly why we need as many people as possible to submit public comments in support of NEPA.

This is one of our biggest fights under the Trump administration to date. Can we count on you to stand with us at this critical time?
