Hi John,
I always cut through the BS, and recently, a special election was called
for California’s U.S. Senate race after the passing of Senator Feinstein.
Let me explain what this actually means and how it affects our campaign:
1. California will technically have two elections on the SAME ballot. One
will determine who serves from November 2024-January 2025, and another
will elect someone who will serve the normal six year term beginning
in January 2025. The same candidates are running in both races.
2. This doesn't mean we have to reach the same voters twice. But it does
mean the contribution limits have doubled. So people who could afford
to give $6,600 (the federal limit) can now give $13,200.
These new, higher, contribution limits disadvantage our grassroots powered
campaign. Politico checked the receipts, and my opponent, Adam Schiff,
raises 10x the amount of high dollar money our campaign does.
That means I’m counting on this grassroots team to help us make up the
difference and compete in what is going to become an even more expensive
race. [ [link removed] ]Can you join us?
