This colourful, five-day Festival of Lights celebrates new beginnings and the triumph of good over evil and light over darkness - a positive message we can all appreciate.

Vapes and tobacco seizures – illegal profits go up in smoke

Our Trading Standards department has seized almost £100,000 worth of illegal vapes and illicit tobacco in just five months.

By doing so we’ve not only disrupted traders who sell unlawful and potentially unsafe goods but also protected the health of Oldhamers – including many young people.

Oldham Music Centre Christmas concerts

Oldham Music Centre wants to invite you to two wonderful Christmas concerts at the Queen Elizabeth Hall.

Junior Christmas Festival:
See talented young musicians on Wednesday 6 December at 7pm. Tickets are £6 for adults/ £3 for children, and a family ticket for 2 adults and 2 kids is £15.

Festive Favorites Showcase:
Enjoy festive tunes on Sunday 10 December at 3pm by our talented young singers and musicians. Tickets are £8 for adults/ £5 for Children, and a family ticket is £21.

Get money for walking projects in Greater Manchester: Up to £5,000 available.

Get up to £5,000 for projects that encourage people to walk or wheel in Greater Manchester! If you're a group, apply for a grant to make it happen.

The money is there to help more people stay active and healthy this autumn/winter. Apply soon for smaller grants up to £2,000 or medium grants up to £5,000.
