Honoring on Veterans Day
Aloha Members, Volunteers, & Friends of the Hawai’i Republican Party,
As we approach the commemoration of Veterans Day, I find myself reflecting on the honor and responsibility that comes with both serving our nation and chairing our great party. As a veteran myself, this day holds a personal resonance, reminding me of the camaraderie and sacrifices that supports the very freedoms we cherish and strive to protect through our civic involvements.
Veterans Day is an opportunity for us to pause and honor the brave men and women who have donned the uniform of our armed forces. It is a day to remember those who faced danger and uncertainty, those who have fought for the principles of democracy and liberty, and those who paid the ultimate price. We owe them an immeasurable debt of respect and gratitude.
The values that guide our service members are the same that guide us as Republicans, commitment to country, a belief in the individual’s potential for greatness, and a desire to resolve to uphold the Constitution. On this Veterans Day, let us recommit to these principles and pledge to continue our work to ensure that the sacrifices of our veterans are met with the prosperity of a nation they fought to defend.
I encourage each of you to participate in local Veterans Day events, to reach out to veterans in your community, and to take a moment to contemplate the freedoms you enjoy because of someone else’s service. Our party is proud to include many veterans among our ranks, and we are stronger for their involvement and experience.
Let’s move forward with the courage of those we honor on Veterans Day, and let’s never forget that our unity and our strengths are the greatest tributes we can pay to those who have served, as “We Stand United”.
With deepest respect,
Tamara McKay
