Refugees standing outside their tents when UNHCR assistance arrived to their settlement

Dear John,

We are getting closer to the harshest part of winter. It’s time to take action to protect refugees from whatever challenges they face, from heavy snow and bitter cold, to fierce winds and flooding.

When people flee conflict and persecution, they often leave with little but the few items they can carry in their arms. Without warm clothes or a safe, dry space to sleep, refugees and displaced people are especially vulnerable during the winter months.

The climate crisis is making winter weather even more extreme and unpredictable in many of the locations where refugees and displaced people seek safety. But a donation to UNHCR could help provide warmth and safety this winter. A donation of $275 could support an Afghan family with cash assistance to cover their needs through the winter months.

With your support, we can deliver the emergency aid to help keep refugees and displaced families warm this winter. Please donate now, before extreme weather stops us from reaching the most vulnerable people.

Thank you,

Monia Hassan
