remembrance sunday
To mark Armistice Day tomorrow, a short Service of Remembrance will take place on the steps of the Council House. Starting at 10.55am, with the two-minute silence at 11am, there will be a reading and prayer by the Lord Mayor?s Chaplain, Reverend Jo Tatum, and the Last Post will be played on the bugle by a student from Nottingham High School. Members of the public are welcome to attend.
The traditional Remembrance Service takes place at the city's war memorial at Victoria Embankment on Sunday. The ceremony will begin at 10.45am and include the two-minute silence and wreath laying. The Nottinghamshire Band of The Royal Engineers, accompanied by the Nottingham Hospitals Choir, will provide music for the service. National School Meals Week
National School Meals Week
A number of special guests have been visiting schools this week for National School Meals Week, including local MPs and senior council officers.
They were invited to meet Nottingham City Council?s catering teams to find out about the challenges the industry is facing and the difference a school dinner can make to young people. They also enjoyed a meal themselves with the children.
Nottingham North MP Alex Norris and Lucy Hubber, Director of Public Health at Nottingham City Council, visited Rufford Primary School in Bulwell and enjoyed a delicious Quorn chilli with fruit dessert. Helping children to eat healthily and move more is a priority for Nottingham, and having a nutritious ??meal ?at school is a really important part of that.
