Dear John,
We’re sharing news with you out of Michigan—thanks to your support and tireless efforts alongside our partners, a bill that would have expanded internet voting was defeated!
Â
House Bill 4210 was introduced in March and would have expanded the practice of internet voting in the state. Our strategy included comprehensive lobbying efforts, engaging with legislators, activating our coalition, and getting media coverage to raise awareness about the risks associated with internet voting (listen to one of my interviews here). These collective, coordinated actions with our coalition partners ultimately helped sway decision makers in the state.

We're also staying vigilant, because bills that would introduce or expand internet voting continue to crop up across the nation, despite the very real threats internet voting poses to our democracy. Educating the public and lobbying policymakers is key—we're at the forefront alongside our coalition partners and voting experts advocating for safer alternatives, and giving voters resources to stay informed.

Together, we can help ensure the safety and security of our elections. It’s a fight we can’t do without our coalition partners and supporters like you—we hope you consider donating to our advocacy and education efforts today so we can expand and replicate our efforts across the map.Â
With thanks,
C.Jay Coles, Senior Policy & Advocacy Associate
