As we look back on 2023, one word comes to mind: progress.

Dear Friend,

As we look back on 2023, one word comes to mind: progress.

From the courts to the classroom, we have been challenged greatly this
year. But, our movement has faced these challenges and more, bringing
us closer to our vision of a just, equitable world for all. For over
50 years, the SPLC has relied on generous donors like you. With 2023
coming to a close - now, more than ever - your gift can
make a difference for our movement.

Many of our donors are making the most of their end-of-year gifts by
giving non-cash assets rather than cash. The next couple of weeks are
crucial to meeting our goals, and I want to share a couple of
tax-smart ways you can give:

* Transfer appreciated assets: Save on two types of taxes and get
a full deduction for the value of your gift. Our stock tool
tracks your donation so we can thank you for your gift!

* Give directly from an IRA: Donors 70 ½ or older can
reduce their taxable income (and if you need to meet a Required
Minimum Distribution, IRA gifts can count towards those as
well!).

Give smarter today

As year-end approaches, I hope you consider the progress we've
made and make a smart gift to ensure our march for justice continues.

With gratitude,

Your friends at the Southern Poverty Law Center
