Minnesota Military Radio - Tune in this Weekend

Minnesota MIlitary Radio

For over 12 years, the award-winning Minnesota Military Radio (MMR) has been the forum for retelling the stories of Minnesota?s heroes. Vietnam Veteran and volunteer host Tom Lyons shares these stories which are carried on 65 broadcasting stations throughout the state of Minnesota in an effort to preserve the stories of our Veterans and keep listeners up to date on things happening at MDVA and in our Veteran Community here in Minnesota.

State of Minnesota Veterans Day Program, Nov. 11

Veterans Day Event flyer

The State of Minnesota Veterans Day program will take place Saturday, Nov. 11 at the Inver Grove Heights Veterans Memorial Community Center.

Breakfast will begin at 8:30 a.m., with the official program starting at 10 a.m.

A livestream of the event will also be available on the MDVA website for those unable to attend.

Continuing our mission to serve Minnesota?s Veterans and honor Veterans Day, look for us as you head to the Vikings vs Saints game on Sunday, Nov. 12! Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs experts will be outside of U.S. Bank Stadium helping Vets learn what they?ve earned! Join us and the Vikings as we honor those who have served and continue our ongoing work to connect them with federal and state benefits.??



Parade Visiting Minneapolis Veterans Home, Nov. 11

The Minneapolis Veterans Home and the Minneapolis VA are honoring those who have served by co-hosting a decorated vehicle parade on Veterans Day, Saturday, Nov. 11. Cars will make two trips around the Home?s campus for our Residents and their families to enjoy. The parade is set to arrive at 11:15 a.m.

Scott County Historical Society Night at the Museum, Nov. 14

Nights at the Museum

The Scott County Historical Society (SCHS) is honored to host special guest speaker, Dr. Ha Tuong on Nov. 14, 2023 at 6:30 p.m. for the SCHS Nights at the Museum program.

Dr. Tuong, a war researcher and author, has a unique view about the Vietnam War, as reflected in his two books, Two Minnows, and his newest The War. Dr. Tuong will speak about the reason he wrote the books: to make the voices of Vietnam Veterans and the South Vietnamese heard.

The PACT Act and Your VA Benefits

The PACT Act is a new law that expands VA health care and benefits for Veterans exposed to burn pits, Agent Orange and other toxic substances.

The PACT Act adds to the list of health conditions the VA presumes are caused by exposure to these substances. This law helps provide generations of Veterans?and their survivors?with the care and benefits they?ve earned and deserve.

Post-9/11 Veterans Service Bonus

Post 9/11 Service Bonus Flyer [ [link removed] ]

Minnesota Veterans who served sometime between September 11, 2001, and August 30, 2021 may be eligible for a Post-9/11 Service Bonus. More than 20,000 Minnesota Veterans who served in the Global War on Terrorism have already received bonuses totaling $21.4 million in recognition of their service.

The Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs is distributing nearly $39.8 million in bonuses. Eligible Veterans are paid on a first-come, first-served basis, so Veterans should apply today before the funds are gone.
