MTG's petty, sophomoric feud with "whore" Lauren Boebert explodes
The long-simmering feud between Jewish space laser whiz Marjorie Taylor Greene and and public feller-fondler Lauren Boebert has taken a decidedly uglier turn with the Georgia QAnoner reportedly openly and repeatedly referring to her vigilante-vaping, Colorado colleague as a "whore." Greene and Boebert have been clawing at each other's throats for months, and, well, you hate to love to see it, folks. [RETWEET THAT!]

VIDEO OF THE DAY: Lauren Boebert faceplants on House floor after pointless grandstanding
Democratic Rep. Steny Hoyer shattered the Colorado Republican's ego and talking points with just one simple question about HER OWN amendment, which purportedly aimed to keep funds in an appropriations bill from being used for "sanctuary cities." Of course, Boebert didn't do her homework — there are NO funds for that purpose in the bill in question and her amendment was exposed as nothing more than a cheap, meaningless, soapbox moment, which is the only thing the House GOP is capable of achieving these days.

Bigots launch new attack on LGBTQ+ rights across the country
100K Acts of Solidarity: As legislatures across the country work around the clock to institutionalize homophobia and transphobia — over 491 bills introduced this year ALONE! — it's more important than ever that we show the LBGTQ+ community that we'll never give up in the fight for equality. Will you add your name to stand up for LGBTQ+ rights?
Sen. Joe Manchin says he won't run for reelection to Senate in 2024
Sure, the loss of the worst Democratic senator in America is a blow to our chances of keeping control of the chamber next year, but it’s still very much possible. In a week where Democrats swept the top contests in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and even deep-red Kentucky, have the audacity to dream of a blue, Manchin-free Senate. Take a moment to breathe in its beauty… Now, let’s fucking make it happen. [RETWEET THAT!]

Netanyahu rejected ceasefire-for-hostages deal in Gaza, sources say
Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu reportedly rejected a deal for a five-day ceasefire with Palestinian militant groups in Gaza in return for the release of some of the hostages held there since the Hamas terror attacks on October 7, instead choosing to continue the blanket bombardment of the besieged enclave that has killed more than 10,000 people so far — including more than 4,000 children, dozens of journalists, an unprecedented number of UN aid workers, and an undetermined number of Israeli hostages. Netanyahu's actions have infuriated the families of the hostages, who have held dozens of rallies demanding the Israeli government prioritize their release over an assault that is increasingly believed to be motivated by vengeance.

House Republicans nix votes on two funding bills as shutdown deadline nears
The deadline to fund the government and avoid a disastrous shutdown draws ever closer, and not even a new speaker appears to be able to get the GOP clowns in the House to do their job. Republicans closed out the week by canceling votes on two party-line funding bills; a transportation bill was pulled due to resistance to cuts to the Amtrak budget and a financial services bill was yanked thanks to the far-right's attempts to pack it with anti-abortion poison pills. "I don't think the Lord Jesus himself could manage this group," complained Rep. Troy Nehls. "We’re ungovernable." After nearly a month of screwing around trying to pick a leader, the GOP is no closer to being able to fulfill the most basic functions of governance. The 2024 attack ads write themselves!
GOP congressman orchestrating witch-hunt on Biden for "shady business practices" caught actually engaging in shady business practices
As House Rep. and failed Scooby Doo villain James Comer continues his pointless Biden impeachment probe over "shady business practices," new information has surfaced showing that he himself engaged in — you guessed it — shady business practices. Unlike the president, who was a private citizen when he made a $200,000 loan to his brother James, Rep. Comer was not only in office but was on the powerful House Committee on Agriculture — which is extremely relevant since Comer's $200,000 loan to his brother through a shell corporation was for a family farming business. Comer also reportedly engaged in "land swaps" followed by applications for preferable tax treatment. It really is astonishing how EVERY Republican accusation is in fact a projection of their own guilt.

Belmont University student dies after being struck by stray bullet at a local park
Jillian Ludwig, an eighteen-year-old college student in Tennessee, was tragically killed after being accidentally hit in the head by a stray bullet fired by Shaquille Taylor, who was apparently shooting at a car in a nearby housing complex parking lot. Taylor had previously been charged with three counts of assault with a deadly weapon but was deemed too incompetent to stand trial and thus free to wreak random havoc. A case of pneumonia in his infancy had given him a brain infection, limiting him to the mental capacity of a kindergartener — and yet somehow this known violent offender was able to obtain ANOTHER gun and kill someone with it. Nashville Attorney General Glenn Funk has called on the legislature to make it easier to commit someone to a mental institution, but the obvious problem here is THE GUNS, THE GUNS, THE GUNS. IT'S ALWAYS THE GUNS.
McCarthy unloads on his GOP critics and says Rep. Nancy Mace deserves to lose re-election bid
Freed from the burden of having to pretend to like his colleagues, disgraced ex-Speaker Kevin McCarthy is now happy to spill the tea on Republican dysfunction. He said that his party would benefit "tremendously" if Matt Gaetz was out of Congress and doesn't think that his critic Nancy Mace has "earned the right to get re-elected." While these are clearly the bitter ramblings of a humiliated loser, the GOP caucus could ALWAYS use more infighting. Speak your truth, Kevdog!
FEC commissioner calls out GOP colleagues for refusing to investigate Trump
Commissioner Ellen Weintraub revealed that there are at least 58 (!!!) instances where the Federal Election Commission heard allegations against Donald Trump and that in at least 28 of those, staff at the Office of General Counsel decided the serially indicted grifter should be criminally investigated — but ALL Republican commissioners refused to approve any of the counsel’s recommendations. “My colleagues purport to be treating the former president and the current president alike, but the data is clear: At the FEC, Mr. Trump is in a category by himself,” Weintraub said. We could have so many more indictments against Trump if certain people were willing to just obey the law and do their jobs.
Steve Bannon tries to weasel his way out of imprisonment
Unfortunately for ex-Trump whisperer and white nationalist friend of fascism Steve Bannon, it does not look like a federal appeals court is willing to accept "but my lawyer told me to ignore the subpoenas!" as a get-out-of-jail-free card. Maybe Bannon, who was sentenced to four months in the slammer, should have tried not breaking the law!
