Trump vs. Abortion

With over 50% of the vote, the people of Ohio chose to take their reproductive health and freedom into their own hands and voted YES on Issue 1. This is a testament to the hard work and diligence of volunteers and organizers across the state.**When the voice of the people is heard, it echoes nationwide**. 

**Even in deep-red areas where Trump carried the vote in Ohio, abortion won the majority of the vote.**

Per* The New York Times*:***"Among the Trump counties that voted for the amendment, the abortion rights vote was stronger where Mr. Trump won by smaller margins."***

Other elections across the nation saw Democratic wins, like that of Governor Andy Beshear of Kentucky, Virginia gaining a Democratic majority in both chambers and a seat on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. **These races all saw a focus on reproductive rights and the freedom to make choices about our bodies. **

 

**What’s next? **

 

Reproductive rights and freedoms ***win NATIONWIDE***. The majority of Americans agree with this sentiment, and we must fight to ensure that all Americans have access to this lifesaving healthcare.
