Dear Friend,
Georgia is home to one of the largest populations of veterans in the country, and to all those who have served, I would like to express my deepest gratitude. Thank you for your service to America and for making our nation a shining beacon of hope, freedom, and opportunity across the globe. I strive every day to do everything I can for those who currently serve, those who have served in the past, and future generations of servicemembers.

I have cosponsored and worked on legislation to help support our veterans and Armed Services alike. While the news tends to focus on Washington’s dissension and partisanship, caring for America’s servicemembers should be a bipartisan priority. Last Congress, I proudly cosponsored several pieces of legislation that became law, including: - H.R. 5754, the Patient Advocate Tracker Act, to improve the ability of veterans to electronically submit complaints about the delivery of health care services by the Department of Veterans Affairs.
- H.R. 1448, the PAWS for Veterans Therapy Act, to direct the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to carry out a pilot program on dog training therapy, and to authorize the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to provide service dogs to veterans with mental illnesses who do not have mobility impairments.
- H.R. 3475, to name the Department of Veterans Affairs community-based outpatient clinic in Columbus, Georgia, as the Robert S. Poydasheff VA Clinic.

This Congress, that work has only continued and I've proudly cosponsored several more pieces of legislation, including: - H.R. 705, the Veterans 2nd Amendment Protection Act, to prohibit the Secretary of Veterans Affairs from transmitting certain information to the Department of Justice for use by the national instant criminal background check system.
- H.R. 2410, the VET CARE Act of 2023, to authorize the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to provide administrative support to providers of dental care who provide such care to veterans that is not furnished under such title, to direct the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to establish a pilot program for the provision of dental care to certain veterans.
- H.R. 4157, the Not Just a Number Act, to require the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to prepare an annual report on suicide prevention.
- H.R. 3933, the TAP Promotion Act, to authorize representatives of veterans service organizations to promote certain benefits available to veterans in the course of pre-separation counseling under the Transition Assistance program of the Department of Defense.
- H.R. 3520, the Veteran Care Improvement Act, to improve the provision of care and services under the Veterans Community Care Program of the Department of Veterans Affairs.
- H.R. 593, to rename the Department of Veterans Affairs community-based outpatient clinic in Hinesville, Georgia, as the "John Gibson, Dan James, William Sapp, and Frankie Smiley VA Clinic".

As a member of Congress, I will always stand up for our current and former Armed Services members and their families. I will continue to fight to make sure that our veterans are treated with dignity and respect, are properly cared for upon returning home, and can easily access the services and support that they have earned.
Today and throughout the year, I hope that you will take time to talk with and thank our veterans and military service women and men.
If you are a veteran yourself or if you know a veteran who may need assistance, I hope that you will reach out to my district office in Newnan by calling (770) 683-2033 – or by visiting my website. My office and I are eager to do whatever we can to help.
