by Suzanne Bowdey |
A month ago, Rep. Mike Johnson (R-La.) never dreamed of the dramatic turn his career was about to take. Now, two weeks into what he calls a "whirlwind" promotion as House speaker, the Louisiana leader took time to sit down with longtime friend and Family Research Council President Tony Perkins to talk about the challenges, changes, and commitments he's working through as a devout Christian in one of the most powerful jobs in the world. |

GOP Debaters' Abortion Policies Need Life Support |
by Ben Johnson and Meg Kilgannon |
As citizens who vote to protect life from conception until natural death, we weren't surprised to awaken Thursday morning to some buzz about the questions on abortion during the third (too many) Republican debate held in Miami, Florida. It is stating the brutally obvious to observe that Republican candidates and even avowed pro-life elected officials have been struggling to communicate a vision of life in the post-Dobbs world. They have struggled to live up to governing with life-saving moral clarity and struggle to articulate a message more descriptive than "I'm pro-life" or, if we're lucky, "I'm 100% pro-life." |

Ukraine, Israel, and the American World Order |
by Joshua Arnold |
An emerging stream of thought in American politics questions America's longstanding international commitments because it doesn't remember why we made them in the first place. Why is America supplying Ukraine with weapons in its war against Russia? What is America's interest - as distinct from a Jew's or Christian's interest - in securing Israel's victory over Hamas? Would America really put its own blood and treasure on the line to defend the sovereignty of faraway Taiwan? |

Report Shows Federal Government Responsible for Censoring Americans |
by S.A. McCarthy |
A new report is revealing that the federal government partnered with universities and think tanks to censor conservative Americans. A document published Monday by the U.S. House Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government details how the government circumvented constitutional protections of free speech to censor alleged misinformation online, by collaborating with third-party organizations - mostly universities - to police and censor the online speech of American citizens. The report states, "What the federal government could not do directly, it effectively outsourced to the newly emerging censorship-industrial complex." |

'Where Do We Put Them?': Biden Seeks to Use Airports as Shelter for Migrants |
by Sarah Holliday |
Since President Joe Biden has been in office, over 10 million illegal immigrants have entered the U.S. through wide open borders. Yet, short of closing it, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre claimed Biden has done "everything that he can" to secure the border. And Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas, when asked repeatedly if what's occurring at the border is a crisis, refused to say it is so. Additionally, Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-Miss.) asked Mayorkas, "So the situation at the border, you're saying, is not a disaster?" To which he responded, "That is correct." |
