Tomorrow is Veterans Day, a solemn moment to honor the courageous men and women who have served our country. The sacrifices they made are immeasurable, which is why they deserve our deepest gratitude.
Our all-volunteer military exemplifies selflessness and valor. No one forced them to do this. In fact, life would be a lot easier for them and their families if they chose another path. These folks truly feel called to a higher purpose—one that has shaped this country and made it a beacon of hope. It’s a choice they make out of love for their country and a profound sense of duty.
But as we tip our hats to their remarkable service to America, we must recognize that our veterans face some serious hurdles. Here's a glimpse at the numbers to ponder:
As we take stock of the challenges our veterans deal with, we're reminded of our shared duty to lend them a helping hand. Whether it’s protecting them from scams or providing housing options, I will always fight for these men and women. I promise to take every opportunity to help our selfless heroes find success and peace in their lives after service.
On this Veterans Day and every day, let’s honor the courageous men and women—from this generation and those that came before—for risking their lives so that those at home can live in freedom and safety.
