Senator Marsha Blackburn’s name has become synonymous with unequivocal support for the state of Israel. Following the first attacks made by Hamas terrorists on the morning of October 7, 2023, Senator Blackburn immediately took action, calling on the Biden administration ([link removed]) to send any arms necessary for Israel to protect and defend itself against terrorism.
Senator Blackburn took charge in leading members of the Tennessee delegation and 19 Senate colleagues and demanding the administration permanently freeze the $6 billion ([link removed]) ransom payment to Iran. This deal was negotiated by the Biden administration as part of a prisoner swap — a move that served as the catalyst for Iran-backed Hamas terrorists to attack Israel.
Senator Blackburn has worked to ensure the Biden administration will not release another dollar to Iran – even when the media attention on Israel dissipates – and send the $6 billion to Israel.
Additionally, Senator Blackburn has asked the administration to convene the G7 nations ([link removed]) to jointly sanction Iran, demanded answers for violations of Iran’s Nuclear Program ([link removed]) , and called for the removal of Jake Sullivan ([link removed]) as National Security Advisor.
Senator Blackburn has also introduced legislation ([link removed]) to halt all funding for the U.N. Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), which has a history ([link removed]) of being highly antisemitic and employing ([link removed]) individuals affiliated with Hamas.

The Rays of Light in the Darkness awards Dinner is the nation’s premier event that strengthens leaders who speak the truth about Israel and the Middle East, despite the political cost they face every day.
These leaders share the belief in a strong United States, a self-sufficient Israel. They support the security of the United States and our allies against terrorism, even when it may seem unpopular.
EMET is the first organization of its kind to honor these speakers of truth who stand up in the face of deception and violence, sometimes at great political or physical risk to themselves and their loved ones.
The Rays of Light in the Darkness Dinner begins with a reception where you will get to meet the honorees and other VIP guests, and then hear from them and honor them at the awards dinner.
