Dear John,

Australia, we need to have an important discussion. Our leader, Pauline Hanson, has consistently raised concerns over the erosion of Australian values throughout her career. As the political party most proud of our heritage and our country, it falls to us to not only defend but also define Aussie values.

Never is a discussion about our culture more important than on the eve of the day we commemorate the end of the war that ushered in the birth of our ANZAC spirit.

This week's Senate debate on 'freedom of speech', a right fought for by our ancestors, intensely highlighted Australian values. The debate centered on Pauline's right to speak for the millions of Australians who would prefer to support someone's departure from our nation over allowing that person to constantly attack our way of life, culture, and heritage.

Is loving and respecting our country too much to ask from those who have come to share our ‘boundless plains’?

Did you know many Australian MPs refuse to even fly our Australian flag and have stated they are ashamed of it? Schools place a low priority on our anthem and don't raise our flag proudly in many instances.

Is flying a flag that our ancestors, of all races, fought under in our defense, an important Australian value? We argue strongly that it is.

Our families have been under attack from all angles, crushed by a rotten Family Law system and the constant cost of living pressures. There was a time when families were at the core of our society; Australians could rely on each other to provide the stability and structure needed to keep our communities safe.

Families and children are the first line of home defense when our nation faces calamitous situations like violence from other countries. Families are what keep our nation ticking if we have to face the dreadful situation of arming ourselves and sending our men to fight in defence of our country.

Has family breakdown been so significant, accelerated by the left's hatred of family structure, that there is no return? Or can we salvage this mess? One Nation is eager to tackle the strengthening of the family as part of the policies we present to the Australian people.

The breakdown of Australian values—trampling freedoms, disrespecting our flag, and targeting the family—starts with allowing the left to control the national conversation and force their policies on the country.

One Nation is committed to fighting for our nation, drawing inspiration from our national narrative that has been shaped by the ANZACs and diggers, established by the efforts of our pioneering settlers, affirmed in our folklore, and interwoven throughout our written and oral histories. We will preserve and defend these values until our last breath, in policy, in action, and in parliaments across Australia.

One culturally significant contribution One Nation makes to the national conversation is our political satire cartoon, Please Explain. This Christmas, we have a special edition of Gin to help fund our cartoon.
