Governor Walz Proclaims Veterans Day in the State of Minnesota

On Friday, Governor Walz, a 24-year veteran of the National Guard, is recognizing Veterans Day in the State of Minnesota and reiterating his unwavering support and commitment to Minnesota?s veterans.

*?Minnesota remains committed to honoring our veterans ? the more than 300,000 Minnesotans who answered the call to serve our state, country, and democracy,? *said Governor Walz. *?From expanding service bonuses, signing the Veterans Restorative Justice Act into law, and moving Minnesota closer to ending veterans homelessness, we?ll continue to invest in the health, wellbeing, and success of our veterans. Governor Walz, Lieutenant Governor Flanagan Announce New $10 Million Program to Support Small Businesses

This week, Governor Walz and Lieutenant Governor Flanagan launched a new effort to support and grow small businesses in Minnesota. The $10 million program will provide low-interest loans to small businesses, promoting the growth and success of Minnesota?s small business economy.

*?Small businesses are foundational to Minnesota?s economic ecosystem ? they?re at the heart of our communities, our workforce, and our state?s economy,?*?said Governor Walz.?*?This program will make it easier for small businesses to access loans that are critical for their growth and long-term success and help us build a thriving state economy.?*

This week, Governor Walz celebrated the 21st annual Governor?s Deer Hunting Opener. Governor Walz opened the 2023 firearm deer season in Lanesboro.

*?With its focus on community, conservation, and the multi-million dollar impact on our state?s economy, the Deer Hunting Opener highlights the best of Minnesota and our rich outdoor recreation traditions,?*?said Governor Walz.?*?Thank you to the Lanesboro community, Eagle Bluff Learning Center, and our partners for hosting an outstanding kick-off to the deer hunting season. Last week, Governor Walz signed an executive order eliminating college degree requirements for over 75% of state government jobs. The executive order will open job opportunities for more people and make it easier for people in Minnesota to choose state service.
